Niantic has revealed that the Tadpole Pokémon, Poliwag will be the featured Pokémon for Pokémon GO's Community Day for July 2023. During this event, Poliwag will be appearing more frequently in the wild, together with its Shiny variant. The event will be held on July 31st, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm local time.

In a story we ironically almost missed because we slept in, Pokémon Sleep, the upcoming spin-off Pokémon game developed for iOS and Android, is receiving a special open beta test this week for Android users in Argentina, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand. Pokémon GO is celebrating its seventh anniversary this week, with a week-long Anniversary Party event starting July 6th at 10:00am, and running through to July 12th at 8:00pm local time. Two new costumed Pokémon will make their debut in this event, with Wartortle and Blastoise wearing a party hat both appearing for the first time. Trainers who have a Squirtle wearing a party hat will be able to use Squirtle Candy to evolve it into its party hat wearing evolutions.

The next past generation first partner evolution to make its Paldea debut in special Tera Raids will be the Fox Pokémon Delphox, who will be making its first appearance in 7-star Black Crystal Tera Raid Battles between July 7th at 00:00 (UTC), and July 9th at 23:59 (UTC), with a follow-up appearance one week later from July 14th at 00:00 (UTC), to July 16th at 23:59 (UTC).
