A limited-time distribution of Shiny Grimmsnarl, based on the one used by Chaiyawat Traiwichcha in the Masters division of the 2022 Pokémon Thailand Championships, is scheduled to be announced for Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet tomorrow as part of the Worlds 2023 Pika Fiesta! Campaign in Malaysia. However, due to the password format for this distribution following the same pattern as previous years, fans have managed to guess the password 「THA12022CHAMP」and obtain Grimmsnarl early. This distribution is available in-game now, and will remain continue through until August 18th, at 11:59pm.

In what seems to be turning into a regular occurance, Pokémon Sleep has received an update today to Version 1.0.4. This latest update resolves a number of issues that had been impacting app users on both Android and iOS devices. The official Pokémon Sleep account on (formerly Twitter) has also acknowledged several bugs and issues that they will be looking to resolve in a coming update.

Ahead of the Pokémon GO Fest 2023: Osaka and Pokémon GO Fest 2023: London in-person events early next month, Niantic has announced the Glittering Garden event in Pokémon GO. This global event, featuring some of the Grass-type and Fairy-type Pokémon appearing in the GO Fest events, will start in the middle of the two in-person events on August 5th, at 10:00am local time, and conclude past the end of those two events to August 8th, at 8:00pm local time. Shiny Petilil will also make its Pokémon GO debut in these events.

In joint press releases sent out yesterday, The Pokémon Company and Yahoo! Japan have announced the signing of memorandum of understanding between the two companies for co-operation in the implementation of measures to ensure that fans can safely and securely trade and sell Pokémon cards via Yahoo! Japan's online services.

More returning content is coming to Pokémon Masters EX this week, with a re-run of 2022's Melancholy Wally story event. Sygna Suit Wally & Gardevoir, who first made their debut alongside the original run of this Story Event, are also making a return in a new Poké Fair Scout. Both the event and scout are available in-game now, and will run through until August 8th, at 10:59pm (PDT).

Late last week, The Pokémon Company gave a preview of the English dub for Pokémon Horizons: The Series during its first-ever panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego, including a sneak-peak screening of the first 11 minutes of the first episode. Pokémon UNITE's 2nd Anniversary celebrations have now begun, with a variety of events running in-game alongside the debut of Mewtwo as a playable Pokémon. Despite being intended as a easy to learn but hard to master style Pokémon, it seems players have been a little too successful with the Genetic Pokémon, and the game's developers have announced an emergency balance adjustment will be coming later today.

Four Pokemon games are set to feature in the 2023 European Speedrunner Assembly (ESA) summer event, which will take place from July 22nd to July 30th across two streams in Malmö, Sweden. This year's event will be raising money for Alzheimerfonden, the Swedish Alzheimer’s Foundation.

Cards from this set will be released internationally as part of the Scarlet & Violet: Obsidian Flames expansion on August 11th.

A new version of Pokémon UNITE, Version 1.11.1.2, is now available for download. This new version add the new Battle Map, Parade Panic, which will unlock from July 21st together with the start of the game's 2nd Anniversary celebrations. The Pokémon UNITE team have also revealed details on several new components of the game through recent a combination of social media posts and a letter to players, including information about Mewtwo's upcoming debut.

The app had received a limited release earlier this week for countries which received the open beta, before opening up to users in Africa, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia over the course of the last 24 hours, and for users in the United States and Japan in just the past hour.

Cards from this set will be released internationally as part of the Scarlet & Violet: Obsidian Flames expansion on August 11th.

Pokémon Masters EX's Legendary Arena is expanding this week, with the addition of a brand new battle area, focused on Raikou. In the Legendary Arena, trainers must complete a set of challenges using up to 30 sync pairs. Originally only available as time-limited events, the Arena was opened permanently following the September 2022 update, allowing players to challenge these battles whenever they like. Raikou is the thirteenth Pokémon to be added to the Legendary Arena.

As a result of technical issues impacting Trainers with Pokémon Trainer Club accounts during July 9th's Pokémon GO Community Day Classic event, Niantic has announced that a special global makeup event will be running this weekend on July 23rd, between 2:00pm and 5:00pm local time. During this period, Squirtle will once again be appearing more frequently in the wild, with its Shiny variant also being available to be encountered.
